unfortunately, some friends can’t help themselves. Some people have such low esteem that they lash out in the most hurtful ways, then regret it afterwards. But we still love them, because WE are true friends. 🙂
So true! And as Stuart said, even if they do throw something back in our face, we still love ’em and forgive them anyways.
I also remember this quote about friendship and a true friend (& I don’t know who the author is) . . . “A good friend is not someone who necessarily agrees with everything you do and say–it’s somebody who lovingly challenges you to be a better person. We grow in maturity when we can test our thoughts and ideas against another person, and when we’re open to correction when we’re wrong.”
