Letting Go Of The Chains That Bind

Are you full of resentment because of a past hurt? Don’t let another person live rent free in your heart and in your head.

You cannot alter the past, but you can build on today. Let go of those thoughts of retaliation and use that energy to move forward in a new direction. It is important that you realize that you are no longer a victim, but a strong, resilient human being, capable of amazing things.

Letting go is refusing to allow the harmful act of another to occupy a permanent place in your mind. Letting go is ridding yourself of any venomous negativity that may be traveling through your bloodstream, seeping from your pores, and occupying space where happiness could dwell. It is removing the chains that bind you. Letting go is a precious gift to yourself.

Letting go is liberating. I recently had my eyes opened to a situation that at first was devastating but then realized what I had thought was so precious was actually killing my spirit. It took so much work – this relationship – to attain some happiness – now that I have made my decision, and let go freely, I feel like a huge weight has lifted. Now that I can stand back and observe – I know what I thought was so perfect was so flawed and I ignored the signs.

Jennifer, You are not alone in this. I have many many clients experience something very similar to this. Time to let go and renew the spirit!

I love your snowball effect! Like a snowball that builds in layers a bit at a time, letting go is a regulat, daily activity. Practicing on the little trivial things, one develops the skill required to let go the big stuff when it’s most needed. When that becomes habit, others will marvel at the focus and positive energy that exudes in the absence of obsessing to that which cannot be changed. That beautiful snowball just gets bigger — and draws others in as well,

Everyone has purpose. Don’t allow others to pull you from your purpose!

Shannon, we do think alike! You took the words right out of my mouth. I am glad that you see the snowball effect the way that I do. It can be something beautiful if we are willing to let go of things that spiral us down. Thank you for your comments! Have a terrific weekend with those wonderful kids!
