Vision is Sparked by Passion

September 26, 2014 Kristin 4 Comments

we all haveDon’t ignore your passion. When you follow your passions, people are drawn to your light. If you are full of passion, people can’t help but feel passionate about you. Passion really is contagious. When we live with passion, our spirit comes alive, and we radiate positive energy. It just beams off us, and other people can’t help but notice.

We all have unique talents, and some of us have been able to tap into those talents and live our lives authentically. When we live our lives with passion, other people become attracted to our enthusiasm. They are drawn to us. They feel it. They are touched by our spirit.

Too often we are afraid to pursue our true passions. Maybe we were told that they were silly when we were kids. Maybe we were told that our passions were impossible. Maybe we were pushed to pursue a passion that belonged to someone else. Maybe we were scared that if we pursued our own interests, we would let somebody else down. Maybe we thought that we would fail.

To truly be happy and at peace with ourselves, we must push past our fears. When someone tells us that we can’t do something because it is impossible or just too difficult, it is because they lack vision. We cannot allow their lack of vision to destroy our dreams. We cannot allow our fear of failure to hold us back from that which makes us come alive.

Too many well-meaning parents have figured out their child’s passion before the child is even born. The basketball dad thinks his son will be the next Michael Jordan, the artist thinks her daughter will paint like Picasso, and the musician thinks that his son is going to be the next Beethoven.

Then the artist gives birth to a little Michael Jordan, and the basketball dad has a daughter who wants to paint like Picasso. Will these children have the freedom to pursue their passions, or will their passions get buried by what was predetermined?

If we are to live with passion, we must pursue what we are passionate about. If we want to attract other people to us, they must see our passion emerge. And when it does, we will feel inspired perhaps to an elevation that we have never experienced before.

Ask yourself these two questions: “What is it that I am really passionate about?” “What is holding me back from pursuing that passion?” Your passion is your magic! Now go find it, and let your light shine!

I’m sure it’s hard for parents to let their children make choices other than what they wished for them. But the parents’ job is to guide, not to decide, right?
