Today I would like to share with you a short excerpt from my book, The Snowball Effect: How to Build Positive Momentum in Your Life along with 7 great gratitude quotes. It is my hope that you have a terrific and grateful day!
Life is too short to …
dwell on what you do not have.
neglect to tell those you love that you love them.
spend time ruminating on the past.
find things to criticize rather than find things to praise.
focus on times when you have been wronged rather than remember when things have gone right.
overlook nature’s beauty.
carry a chip on your shoulder. You will miss the good that surrounds you.
discount your strengths. We all have them. Where is your focus?
worry so much about the future that you miss the promise of today.
hold grudges. Holding a grudge means staying in prison. Let yourself be free.

7 Gratitude Quotes
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast , a house into a home, a stranger into a friend.” -Melody Beattie
“Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgiving, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” -William Arthur Ward
“Be thankful for what you have and you will end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” -Oprah Winfrey
“We often take for granted the very things that most deserve our gratitude.” -Cynthia Ozick
“You gotta look for the good in the bad, the happy in the sad, the gain in the pain, and what makes you grateful not hateful.” -Karen Salmansohn
“Gratitude is more than an attitude, it is a lifestyle.” -Jenni Mullinix
“One of the most tragic things I know about human nature is that all of us tend to put off living. We are all dreaming of some magical rose garden over the horizon instead of enjoying the roses that are blooming outside our windows today.” -Dale Carnegie
Shannon says
Living life with gratitude in the foreground opens the self up for so many wonderful surprises! Though these days, I meet so many wonderful people and experience so many wonderful things, it’s hard not to just *expect* it automatically. What Oprah says is so very, very true; want what you have rather than the other way around.
Great list, Kristin. Wishing you well this week and beyond.

Thank you, Shannon! Have a great weekend!

I find that people who automatically say “thank you” for the smallest things, generally have a good attitude about many other things in life too.
